Since 1989 Laura has been creating one-of-a-kind handpainted clothing for women. During that time she has developed quite a following of appreciative customers and in response to their demands we have created artwearbylaura.com.
Raised in an intensly artistic environment Laura followed her father, a professional artist and designer, into a world of creativity. As a child Laura's love for flowers was sparked by renowned flower sculptor Laura Mackay. After attending The Massachusetts College of Art, Laura pursued a career in music and during that time she rediscovered her love of watercolors. She started by working with fabric dyes designing cat face denim jackets -that was just the begining.
Over the years, Artwear by Laura has grown. Michael and Laura Keegan work together touring the northeast showing her work at some of the largest and top ranked fairs and festivals.
Laura is a true artist and paints each design on all of the thousands of pieces of clothing that she sells. This is what makes each a piece of art and as individual as the person who buys them.
As the business grew Laura was able to move and build her dream studio which she has spent years surrounding with her other passion and inspiration: her gardens.
Laura did not choose to paint floral designs because it was popular but because flowers are a part of her life. When not painting Laura can be found tending to one of the many gardens that surround her.
Several of Laura's current designs have also come from those gardens and happily have found
their way to women all over the world.
